KHCC’s principal office shall be in North Kohala,
Island of Hawai’i, State of Hawai’i
Purpose: Is to actively
participate in the promotion, perpetuation and preservation of traditional
Hawaiian values that dignify, honor and respect all life in support
of the Native Hawaiian.
Objectives Are:
- Advocate in educational, environmental, civic, economic,
social, health and well being concerns of the Native Hawaiian and
the community at large.
- To provide a forum for the full and free discussion
of all matters of public interest, excepting those, which may be
specifically, prohibited by this Constitution and By-laws.
- To preserve and perpetuate all sources and records
of the ancient traditions.
- To actively encourage the teaching, learning and
use of ‘olelo makuahine (mother tongue) the Hawaiian language.
- To actively encourage and assist in furthering the
education of those of Hawaiian ancestry.
- To develop, nurture and inspire the Native Hawaiian
to their ancestral history, cultural identity and the spiritual
and traditional beliefs, customs and social practices of the Kanaka
Maoli.
- To promote the understanding of the impact to the
Native Hawaiian in relationship to the diverse cultures present
Hawai’i.
